Tip of The Month

May 2011 - Come to a Speakers Club. Practice makes perfect so they say, but it needs to be the right kind of practice and you need to get the right kind of feedback or evaluation at the end for it to really benefit you. Most of us have been on training courses but how often have you come away thinking - that’s great but now I really need to practice. In reality we seldom find the time or place to do that. At Speakers Club, you will find that just a little bit of regular practice soon turns into real, lasting tangible improvement in skill and confidence that can benefit your communications skills in every arena – business or social. Reduce nerves, get your message across more clearly and with more impact. Now isn’t that worth the effort ? There are a number of local clubs (check the links to other local clubs) and at each you will receive guidance, instruction and feedback on some of the basic techniques and a friendly environment in which to practice. In addition, we hold summer masterclasses to provide more detail on certain areas.

First masterclass is June 2nd – How to use humour in speaking. This masterclass will led by James McGinty – National Speaking Contest winner. We look forward to seeing you soon.

The Basics

The Club

It's really about making a start and doing it at your own pace. As a club we constantly look for new ways to encourage new members into the learning process and to stretch some of the more experienced members. Everyone has something to offer and your contribution will be valued.

We try new ideas to break the ice and keep up with today's styles of communication.

If there is something you think is missing from the programme - let us know. We will always endeavour to include up to date material in the schedule. But regardless of changes in modern communication styles, the basics still apply.
