Tips:

Don't apologize For Being Nervous - Most of the time your nervousness does not show at all. If you don't say anything about it, nobody will notice. If you mention your nervousness or apologize for any problems you think you have with your speech, you'll only be calling attention to it. Had you remained silent, your listeners may not have noticed at all.

Summer Sessions

We'd hate to think you get bored over the summer recess. Far from it ! We have put together a set of information packed instructional evenings aimed at getting back to basics, understanding some of the reasons why we fear public speaking so much, and offer tips, techniques and some up to date learning techniques and exercises to get you quickly growing in confidence and just as importantly some explanations as to why they work. Don't just take our word for it - come along and put it to the test.

Session 1 - The basics: why we suffer anxiety and simple exercises to relax and get confident step by step

Session 2 - Getting rapport with your audience. Ever wonder why you get nervous ? Probably because you are centred on yourself and not on your audience and the important message you want to put across to them.

Session 3 - Words Matter ! No doubt you've heard the maxim that Non Verbal Communication is all critical ! Don't be misled - what you say and how you say it will make or break your presentation. [July 19th 2010]

The summer sessions are FREE, yes FREE but for a limited time only. Come along and see what you could be getting from Ipswich Speakers Club.

We cover some aspects of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Not just the latest buzz but an incredibly powerful way of maximising your own potential just by understanding how your own brain works.
